Blocking out eyebrows with prit stick

I much preferred using prit stick to block out the eye brows I found it a faster process and a lot easier for myself. It's the same process of using soap you scrape off a small piece of glue with the spatula I found out scraping off small pieces worked better as the glue dried quickly and it made less waste than using a big piece that would dry out before using. The the smooth side of the spatula brush the hairs upwards and away from the place they usually sit. Then you wait for it to dry (set) or you can hair dryer it. The next thing I did was using my supra colour the darkest red mixed that with my illamasqua white based foundation to create a rosy colour apply that then keep on building with just the white or what ever colour you want it. I'm really happy with my result as I've never used prit stick before and feel the coverage is good next time I would add more layers of white so you can't see them at all also finish the whole look
First layer added
Starting to add the pink colour

The new Elizabethans

My first new Elizabethan is Beyoncé  although she isn't British I feel she's a world wide icon that is so influential and like Elizabeth she can control her image and is a style icon that stands for strong women. Although Beyoncé is married she still reminds me of queen Elizabeth as she cares about peoples well being as Beyoncé donates a lot to charity and is very in touch with her christianity and  has strong morals similar to Elizabeth's as they . Their both accomplished women as Elizabeth lead Britain into the modern era and Beyoncé is constantly creating new trends, they both stood for the arts encouraging it. Also Beyoncé is known as queen bee and one of her advertisements strongly resembles Elizabeth  This image screams Elizabethan the high hair line with frizzed hair and collar. Also I feel that Beyonce and Elizabeth stand for empowering women and that they are good inspirations for girls and women everywhere.

My second new Elizabethan is Vivienne Westwood- April 8, 1941.
I've choose her as I feel shes is Influential throughtout Britian within her charity work, designs etc..
Shes know as the ' Original and outrageous, British designer '
What I love about Vivienne Westwood is that she pushes the boundaries and within her work shes political and promotes awareness as she truly cares about the issues occurring in the world. Vivienne i also a fan of Elizabeth as she has infulenced alot of Westwood's work and If you look at them both physically theres a few resemblances such as hair color, pale complexion I truly believe Vivienne is a modern day Elizabeth.  Vivienne has helped Britian throughout many issues such as climate change by advertising it through her designs and work which I feel is also a similarity with Elizabeth as her aim as being a queen was to make Britain the best place as possible.  '' The designer said she donated the money after learning that only a tiny amount of the $6.5 billion (£4.2 billion) committed to the World Bank’s Climate Investments Funds (CIF) has been spent''  a quote from an article showing that Vivienne has invested her own money into improving the world for other generations I feel that she is an inspiration and showing that one person can help change the world for the better.

Compairing the taming of the shrew

The modern version of taming of the shrew has many references throughout the film Elizabethan era such as the strong role of the female character, the black clothing, high neck line, Kate's hair style with it tied back into a bun with a high fore head and wonky parting which also indicates that the character is quite quirky. Kate's sister Bianca also resembles a beauty from the resonant with pale complexion and dark hair. Other major aspects I noticed throughout the film is how the main female role is against getting married.
The costumes and jewelry are very Elizabethan as the mothers velvet outfit and very expensive looking necklace indicating wealth also wearing black and purple indicating upper class and the fur coats show more wealth. The scenery is very Elizabethan also as the chandelier gives off the impression of them having money and the colour theme of the rooms being very red and golden enhancing that idea of them being upper class. In conclusion I feel that the Elizabethan era has influenced the film in a huge way even by the small indicators eg: the hair style, colour of clothing and accessories.

blocking out eyebrows with soap

Blocking out eyebrows
Theres two techniques where you can block out someones eyebrows one that involves soap and the other involves prit stick I choose to experiment with soap. What I need to do this was a bar of soap, spatula and a bowl of water. An important factor to take in to consideration while doing this was how sensitive my clients skin was and making sure it didn't go into my clients eyes,
Firstly you scrape of some soap with the spatula then and water and mix it till it becomes a paste then apply it brushing the hairs to the opposite way that they normally go to pick up all the hairs then smooth over the other way.
Then you build up the layers making sure its completely smoothed out you also need to clear up the edges using the cotton bud making sure the soap paste is only on the actual hairs.
when you think you've done enough layers you then apply your base colour I used supa colour white but I didnt wait for the soap to dry so it didnt apply as well as I would of hoped As It didn't block the eyebrow as much as I wanted Although for my first attempt I feel it went well and I know where I went wrong for next time so with more practice I think it will improve But as a technique I feel its really usefull to know
