Colour matching and natural contouring anc concealer

Everyone has different tones and pigments within their skin such as you can have:
·         Fair skin colouring
·         Light skin colouring
·         Olive skin colouring
·         Brown skin colouring

·         Black skin colouring

To successfully colour match mixing colours usually helps as there’s different shades within someone’s face to get the best match apply the colour firstly on the edge of your models chin down to their neck so you can see if you have the right colour if it blends perfectly with the skin. It’s better to try out lighter then add darker because you can always add bronzer to give your client some more colouring but it’s most important to get the base colour correct.
From this image you can see I’ve done half of my models face. I applied my makeup to the left side I feel it’s a perfect colour match as you can hardly see the line I choose this image to show how ‘natural’ you can do your make-up I feel this had been a success. Once I had found the base colour I applied it then really buffed it into the skin to give a more polished look.
I used Kryolan foundation pallet for my client combing 1 Ajoster and 617 to get the colour correct.
After that I then used concealer to get rid of the dark circles I used D3. My client also had a few red areas and imperfections so I used the green concealer to hide them as green takes down redness and it was D1
After applying I set it with Illamasqua loose powder to get rid of the shine and make it look more natural I dabbed it on with a sponge also I powdered as I wanted to do a natural contouring and you can’t apply powder once you’ve used grease foundation ‘grease on grease powder on powder’ works the best.
CONTOURING AND HIGHLIGHTING
·         Contouring brings features in
·         Highlighting brings features out
I found where my clients cheek bone was asked her to suck her cheeks in so I could follow them clearly and then applied ‘pale tan’ to her cheek bone going downwards but stopping before  reaching her mouth and then to the tops of her temple and slightly under her jaw line. I then applied ‘blush peach’ to the apples of her cheeks asking her to smile as a guide line.

I'm pleased with my first attempt and feel I matched her skin very well and you can see how it blends into her natural skin colour as I only did half a face make-up next time I want to concentrate on the concealer as it's still quite dark under the eyes and I want to experiment more contouring. I learnt that to check if the colour blends with the natural skin colouring is to apply to the chin and see if it blends into the neck. I do like that it's half face as you can see natural vs natural makeup which I'm pleased with.
