Experimenting with day of the dead Halloween make-up
In class we were given different designs of day of the dead make-up we had to choose which one we wanted to do then interpret it onto our model. I really enjoyed doing this although we didn't have that long to do the look I'm quite pleased with the out come I feel the eyes have blended well although I would have liked to have had longer to perfect the final outcome and add the final details I would like to progress and try different looks with the design.I liked the freedom of doing this and feel it went well if I had longer time I would have made the heart more symmetrical. I used illmasaqua skin base foundation and Kryolan Supa colour for the other parts I like the blending of the eyes and the slight contouring. I used the illamasqua white foundation as my base blended into the ears then started adding the features then after I felt I was finished I used powder to set it. I would like to experiment further because I think make-up like this will always be useful in knowing how to do.
Outside class Halloween experiments
I used liquid latex and tissue paper to create a hole effect on my flatmates neck, I built up the layers to make it appear deeper using a hair dryer to set each layer to speed up the process
This is how it turned out I'm really pleased with the out come I used supa colour, mac lip mix and fake blood to achieve the look my favorite aspect was the hole in the neck I feel it worked with the idea I had in my head and looked realistic in person. Aspects that I would change are adding more texture to the sides of the neck and making sure of the placement as the mood rubbed onto the chin so I had to clean it up a few times.
another look was 'half zombie' I basically did the same technique using liquid latex and tissue paper to build the shape I do like the end look although I would spend more time on blending in the green. I really enjoyed halloween as I experimented with different looks and techniques
that I usually wouldnt use.
