Tudor makeup

Elizabeth was the most iconic woman during her rein every woman aimed to look like her. With her skin already pale it gave her a sense of wealth as only the rich would be pale with the 'common' people being tanned from working outside so women would paint themselves white to try and achieve the  image that they were wealthy to achieve they would have too mix together the following ingredients to create it.
Egg whites
Powdered egg shells
Alum
Borax
White poppy seeds
This would bleach the skin, If it was applied too often it would damage the skin and almost scar it It was very common for women to completely cover themselves in the 'paint' they would also paint blue veins to seem even paler which is ironic as in this generation there are so many products to enhance tan and give you a fake one.

 Rouge was used on the lips and cheeks the ingredients needed were;
Vermillion (red crystalline mercuric sulphite)
Gum Arabic
Egg white
Milk from figs
This wasnt healthy for the skin and could damage it quite easy. Elizabeth used Cochineal for her lipstick cochineal is Mexican beetles blood.
